Lifefulness (english edition)

Fullness of Life through Buddhism

‘’What is now proven was once only imagined.’’

William Blake

After the success of Felicità in questo mondo (Happiness in this World), the author uses his simple, conversational style to take us on a fascinating voyage of discovery into the world of Buddhism. A practice that helps you face life with a positive energy that rises from within, fills you, and expands around you, creating a dynamic and contagious harmony.

“Through the relationship between the vastness of the cosmos and the depths of the human spirit, Buddhism provides a means of realizing this potential and teaches how to use it to overcome suffering and live the fullest possible life.”

LIFE AND ITS MYSTERY

Focusing particularly on Nichiren Buddhism and Nam myoho renge kyo, with its concrete approach to living our daily lives in the best possible way, the author helps us discover the beneficial effects of Buddhist practice on our body, as well as its effects on the deeper parts of our mind and on the things and people that surround us.

A journey that unveils the points of contact between Buddhism and science, psychology, and other philosophies and religions. An important and moving book, useful for everyone, with an abundance of practical advice for achieving Lifefulness: the fullness of life.

Lifeful is a very old word, in use since the 13th century. It means “full of vitality,” as well as “giving or infusing vitality.”

So lifefulness (the state of being lifeful) means having a life full of energy that is a source of serenity and lightness. An inner vitality that gives joy and courage, that fills us with hope.

Yet it also means being able to share this energy with those around us, to help and support others by having a positive influence on them.

Lifefulness is happiness within, the only sort that no one can take away. It means developing an inner vital condition that isn’t easily influenced by external circumstances. It means being free.

This story is about how to find lifefulness in our everyday lives, through Buddhism.

I hope you enjoy it.

“Whatever the situation, however you’re feeling … everything can be resolved. And it’s never too late. All wounds can be healed, all mistakes remedied. Poison can be turned into medicine. There’s nothing that can’t be reborn at any moment, amazing us, like a flower that blossoms from a seed buried in arid soil.”

This book is amazing! I have been practicing Nichiren Buddhism for 15 years now, but still when I read it the fist time, it left me fascinated, as it helped me to see and understand so many different things from a different and fresh perspective. I read it twice -the Italian version- and I was trilled when I find out that it was translated into English. I think so many people would benefit from reading this book. It really explains, in a easy way, easily understandable, even for those that do not practice but can be interested in the Buddhist philosopjy, how the practice of this philosophy or life is based on reason, and can really help peple to become happy(ier) ... and experience lifefulness!
